Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026
The short version: We never sell your information. We only collect what we need to help you find an internet plan, and we tell you exactly what that is below.

What we collect

ZIP code and benefit selections. When you use our plan finder, we use your ZIP code and any benefits you select to show you programs available in your area. We don't attach this to your name.

Conversations with Maya. If you talk or text with Maya, our AI guide, your conversation is processed by our AI technology partner (ElevenLabs) to generate her responses. Don't share Social Security numbers, account passwords, or full financial account numbers with Maya — she never needs them.

Referral information. If a community organization shared our link with you, we record a code identifying that organization so they receive credit for helping you. This code doesn't identify you personally.

Basic usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site — things like which pages are visited and which buttons are tapped. This helps us make the site better.

What we don't do

We never sell your personal information. We don't share your information with advertisers. We don't run ads.

How we're funded

Digital Lantern is free for you, always. When you sign up for an internet plan through our site, the internet provider may pay us a referral fee. This never changes the price you pay, and providers don't receive your personal information from us when this happens — the sign-up occurs on their own official website.

Where your application actually happens

When you apply for a program like Lifeline, Internet Essentials, or AT&T Access, you apply directly on that program's own official website. Their privacy policies apply to the information you give them there. We link only to official program sites.

Your choices

You can use the plan finder without giving us your name, email, or phone number. If you want us to delete information from a conversation with Maya, email us and we'll take care of it.
